Two Mailers, Every Client Catalog: A Packing Line Built for 3PL Speed
A 3PL doesn’t ship one product line — it ships whatever every client on the floor sells that day. Stocking dozens of box sizes to match slows picking and packing down. Two mailer types, sized right, cover almost all of it.
Efficiency is the whole business model. Every extra second spent hunting for the right box, every dimensional-weight surcharge from oversized packaging, every new client SKU that doesn’t fit anything already on the shelf — it all eats into the throughput your clients are paying you to deliver. The fix most 3PLs land on isn’t matching a box to every product. It’s standardizing the packing line around two mailer types that, sized right, cover the overwhelming majority of what moves through the building.
Bulk Bubble or Standard Bubble? Here’s How to Split Client Volume
Both ship in bulk cases built for high-turnover reordering. The split comes down to order size and how much cushioning the item actually needs.
JUMBOJACKET® Large Bubble Mailers
From $25.05 per case · 2 sizes (#2 and #5) · 25 mailers per case
Thick padded interior, heat-sealed sides, and a reinforced bottom fold built for high-volume shipping. Clean white exterior resists tears, punctures, and moisture, and a tamper-evident self-seal with anti-static release liner keeps packing fast.
Best for: bulkier soft goods, multi-item orders, apparel bundles, home goods
AIRJACKET® White Poly Bubble Mailers
From $19.95 per case · 12 sizes, #000 up to #7
Cushioned bubble lining inside durable, moisture-resistant poly film. Twelve sizes mean a size that fits nearly any single-item or small-parcel order without stepping up to a full box.
Best for: books & media, jewelry & accessories, cosmetics & small electronics, single-item orders
Standardize the Packing Line
Fewer Package Types Means Faster Training and Faster Packing
Every additional box size on the line is another SKU to stock, another judgment call for a new packer, and another few seconds per order deciding what fits. Two mailer types — one heavy-duty, one standard — means a new hire is fully trained on packaging in a shift instead of a week, and a client onboarding a new product line almost always fits into a size you already stock.
It also cuts real freight and postage cost: mailers weigh a fraction of an equivalent box and never trigger the dimensional-weight surcharges that oversized corrugated boxes do on lighter, non-fragile items. Read more on our 3PL & Fulfillment page.
Ordering By the Case
Built for Standing Orders, Not One-Off Restocks
3PLs don’t reorder packaging once a quarter — they reorder constantly, across every client on the floor. Both mailers are priced to reward that volume, so moving from a trial case to a standing order lowers cost per case at every tier.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can these mailers replace corrugated boxes for outbound client shipments?
For non-fragile and semi-fragile items, yes — and it usually lowers both packaging cost and dimensional-weight shipping charges. Items that are genuinely rigid, oversized, or high-value fragile still belong in a box; the goal is routing everything else off the box line, not eliminating boxes entirely.
What size mailer should we stock for a mixed-SKU client catalog?
Most 3PLs land on 2–3 AIRJACKET® sizes for standard single-item orders and both JUMBOJACKET® sizes for bulkier or multi-item orders. That combination, run against your last month of outbound orders, typically covers the large majority of volume without a client-by-client packaging exception list.
How many cases should we order to unlock volume pricing?
20 cases is where per-case savings start to matter on both mailers, and it’s a common standing-order size for a 3PL running multiple clients through the same packaging line. Above 40 cases the savings grow further, and 100+ case volume qualifies for a custom volume quote you can apply as a discount code in your cart.
Can both mailer types run through the same packing station without retraining staff?
Yes. Both use the same tamper-evident self-seal closure and easy-open strip, so the packing motion is identical — the only decision a packer makes is which size and which of the two types fits the order. New staff are typically fully trained on packaging within a shift.
